PALLIATIVE CARE COURSE
Level 1

This is post graduate training for reflexologists who have gained a recognised reflexology qualification either in New Zealand or elsewhere in the world.

As this is an extensive and specialised field of care, the knowledge and information is presented to you in 2 levels:

Level 1 - Reflexology Care for people living with cancer and/or chronic long term conditions.

Level 2 - Reflexology Care with a specific focus for those receiving Palliative Care & into End of Life.

Please note that you may only enrol on this course if you have already undertaken the Level 1 training.

The information on this page is for the Level 1 Course.

Both levels are held as a two day workshop, offered over one full weekend (Saturday and Sunday).

This course is presented by Kelly Woods and Karen Middleton. This collaboration brings to you knowledge and experience from various backgrounds, with a combined insight from a whole health and holistic framework.  The intention is to provide more clarity and understanding, when supporting someone with cancer or a chronic health condition, through your Reflexology.

Over her career of 30+ years, Kelly has supported people across the lifespan, nursing in a variety of specialty areas, both based within hospitals, community and in-home.  These include spinal & head injury rehab, neurosurgical, women’s health, intensive care, medically fragile children & family/whānau, oncology, palliative and hospice care. Kelly divides her time between being a Bodywork Therapist at 'Dove Hospice and Wellness' Auckland, and seeing clients in her private practice, beautifully named 'Solace Bodywork'.

Having been in full time reflexology practice since 2012, Karen has seen and supported numerous people at various stages of cancer, and many of the chronic conditions.  She has a particular interest in supporting people with pain management through reflexology.  She is a service provider for 'Sweet Louise' secondary breast cancer trust.  Karen sees clients from her private practice, 'Karen's Reflexology' in Albany, North Shore, and travels to those who are unable to travel to her, be it home or hospital.
